WASHINGTON — Precision Strategies has grown its ranks with two senior hires, Mike Spahn and Joseph Sorrentino, who come from Capitol Hill and Weber Shandwick respectively.

Spahn joins as a managing director after nearly two decades in politics and policy. Most recently, Spahn worked for US Sen. Patty Murray as the Washington Democrat’s chief of staff, as which he was involved in developing the party’s strategy on issues including health, education, and labor.

At Precision, Spahn will oversee some of the firm’s largest clients and focus on business development. His expertise in policy, advocacy and campaigns will bolster the agency’s crisis communications offering in particular, the agency said.

"Mike is one of the leading political, communications, and policy strategists in the country," said partner Stephanie Cutter. "His expertise in navigating some of our nation's biggest challenges and crafting winning policy and political campaigns will immeasurably help our clients achieve their goals. We are thrilled he's joining our growing team."

Sorrentino (pictured) joins as director of Precision’s paid digital practice from Weber Shandwick, where he most recently was a VP focused on developing and leading digital campaigns for major corporations, while working with nonprofits and advocacy groups on paid media and analytics. He also co-developed a proprietary analytics platform to aggregate and analyze multiple datasets, providing real-time reporting on key issues.

In his new role, Sorrentino will lead the paid digital team and build out the agency's existing paid digital offerings.

"We've been a full service agency from day one, and as we continue to grow we want top talent at the helm of each of our practice areas. Joseph brings knowledge, experience, and a data-driven mindset that will expand on the unique services we already provide to continue delivering excellent results for our clients," said Teddy Goff, also a Precision partner.
