Soon Mee Kim, OPRG's first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, will be recognized  with an Innovation Achievement Award at the Innovation SABRE Awards — North America 2021 online gala on Feb. 24.

The slow progress of diversity & inclusion within the PR industry has compelled a new generation of leaders to disrupt the tired initiatives that clearly weren’t working. Kim is being honored as one of those pioneers.

She is an industry pacesetter and culture creator and last year, the Omnicom Public Relations Group elevated Kim from her role at Porter Novelli to be OPRG’s first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer. She now works along agency leaders to develop DE&I policies and practices across OPRG firms, which include: FleishmanHillard, Porter Novelli, Ketchum and Marina Maher Communications.

Named among PRovoke Media’s Americas 2019 Innovator 25, Kim has been at Omnicom for 14 years. She also sits on Omnicom’s OPEN Leadership Team, chair the PR Council’s diversity community and serve on the board of directors for The LAGRANT Foundation and ColorComm.

The 2021 Innovation SABRE Awards — North America will follow our 8th PRovoke North America event that will coalesce around the theme Reset and feature a half-day of content that explores the pressing communications issues that have emerged as we navigate the aftermath of 2020.
