SAN FRANCISCO—Spark has promoted Tim Turpin to the newly-created role of GM, following steady growth at the firm's San Francisco office.
Turpin, a senior managing director who has been with Spark since 2007, will now oversee all of Spark's San Francisco practice groups. He will continue to oversee clients from the venture capital/green tech practice group that he previously led, with support from agency executives Kirsten Maynard, Michael Celiceo and Mary Magnani.
Turpin will also handle business development and growth for the firm, in tandem with Spark CEO Alan Soucy.
"Tim is a strong, proven leader who has an intimate understanding of the business and has continually leveraged his vast VC and technology experience to develop his practice and execute winning strategies,” said Soucy. "We believe Tim is the ideal person to optimize our internal structure and help us further grow our San Francisco office while maintaining our top quality standards."
Spark’s San Francisco office has more than 50 employees and a client roster that includes technology companies such as Blackboard, Brightroll, DataStax, Deezer and Spiceworks; venture capital firms including Azure Capital Partners, Icon Ventures, NEA and Verizon Ventures; and divisions of Fortune 500 companies such as DuPont and Walmart.
