WASHINGTON, DC—Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, will be among the headline speakers at this year’s PRovoke Global Summit, which takes place in Washington, DC, from November 6-8.

Thompson will appear in conversation with PR industry veteran Corey duBrowa, who recently took the helm as global CEO at BCW after a career that included chief communications officer roles at Starbucks, Salesforce, and Google.

Thompson has been CEO at The Atlantic since February 2021, presiding over a period during which the magazine earned the top honor for magazines, General Excellence, at the National Magazine Awards; earned its second Pulitzer Prize in as many years; and was named Digiday’s Publisher of the Year. The magazine has grown its subscriber base faster than any other publication in its category, and increased revenue by 35%.

Previously, Thompson was the editor-in-chief of Wired. Under his leadership, the publication launched a successful paywall and was named one of Ad Age’s A-List digital publishers. It won a National Magazine Award for design and photography, a Loeb award, and numerous awards from the Society of Publication Designers. Thompson also wrote many features for the publication, including two cover-story investigations into Facebook that have been cited multiple times in Congress.

Before that, he was the editor of NewYorker.com, a co-founder of the multi-media publishing company the Atavist, and the author of The Hawk and the Dove: Paul Nitze, George Kennan, and the History of the Cold War. He is also an “occasional musician” with three albums of instrumental acoustic guitar music.

Tickets for this year’s PRovokeGlobal, which focuses on 'Action & Impact' can be reserved here. The Summit gets underway with the Entrepreneurs Forum on 6th November, before the two main Summit days on the 7th and 8th, culminating in the Global SABRE Awards on the evening of the final day.
