FARMINGTON, CT — Aerospace and building industry company United Technolgies (UT) has appointed Kelli Parsons to take on the titles of SVP and CMO. She will report to UT CEO and chairman Greg Hayes and fills the position on September 11.

After a decade in financial services, Parsons succeeds Nancy Lintner who has left the position to retire. She is tasked with leading the company's global communications team of 400 and overseeing its global integrated communications strategy, which includes corporate marketing, internal and external comms, media relations, digital and social media, public affairs and social responsibility.

"It feels terrific to join such a great company. After 10 years in the financial services it's a very attractive opportunity to be part of such a huge global company who creates tangible products and services that change people's lives," Parsons told the Holmes Report. "I'm very excited to make a meaningful contribution to the company."

Prior to this role, Parsons spent three years at New York Life as SVP and chief communications and marketing officer. There, she built sustainable brand equity by creating a value proposition for maturing Millennial consumers. She also led the development and execution of New York Life's first integrated, digital marketing communications strategy, while focusing on repositioning the brand.

"I enjoy change and leading change. I'm looking forward to continuing what's been working well but to also influence purposeful change that can make the comms team at United Technologies a stronger strategic partnership," said Parsons.

Before that, Parsons spent four years as SVP and CCO while based in Washington, DC. While she was there she served as the head of communications, marketing and corporate giving focused on rebuilding trust and reputation. She began her career at Hill & Knowlton in 1998, where she spent 10 years as EVP, GM, and corporate and technology practice director.

Earlier this year, Parsons joined the analytics software company Proof as a strategic advisor and a member of the company’s customer advisory council.
