SAN FRANCISCO — Weber Shandwick has brought in three new senior leaders to bolster its tech and corporate communications capabilities across the western region.

Annemiek Hamelinck, a 20-year veteran of technology communications, will lead the agency’s regional tech practice as executive VP. She served most recently as managing consultant at Text100 in San Francisco, which has now been rolled into new agency brand Archetype.

She replaces Lee Anderson-Brooke, who stepped down from the position to concentrate his efforts on IBM, which hired the agency to lead global PR last year.

Gareth Williams and Mike Taylor have taken on newly-created roles. Williams, who joins as an executive VP and North America technology strategist, is responsible for helping clients navigate the increasing need for technology insights. An 18-year industry veteran, Williams was also most recently at Text100’s San Francisco operation, where he served as deputy general manager and managing consultant.

Taylor, who comes from Highwire, joins the agency as senior VP, corporate practice, leading crisis management and corporate reputation issues for clients across the West. Taylor brings expertise in working with companies on reputational issues related to cyber security, data privacy, healthcare corporate litigation and labor negotiation.

“There’s incredible synergy today between the way companies across sectors are adapting to advances in technology and how the tech sector itself is changing to address new corporate pressures,” said the agency’s North American president Sara Gavin.

“Effective communications today demands a deep understanding of both of these business drivers and how they work together – which is why we’re thrilled to bring on expert talent like Annemiek, Gareth and Mike to help our clients navigate a new landscape now and in the future.”
