LOUISVILLE, KY — Jerilan Greene will be stepping down from her role leading Yum Brands communications after more than a decade with the restaurant company to pursue her “next career adventure.”

“11 years ago, I was invited to join Yum! and was drawn to a culture with a high bar for leadership and a caring heart for people and social responsibility; and it has been nothing short of a tremendous privilege and blessing to learn and lead in the world's largest restaurant company,” Greene wrote in a LinkedIn post.

“In July, I am stepping down from my roles as Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer and Chairman & CEO of the Yum! Brands Foundation. I’m grateful to have had a seat at the table leading and helping shape our iconic brands at pivotal inflection points over the last decade, from how we grow and protect our brands and culture in 150+ markets to how we show up and invest in being part of the solution to the challenges our stakeholders care most about,” she wrote.

Greene has spent nearly six years leading comms for Yum Brands, which owns KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and The Habit Burger Grill. She joined the company in 2011 as VP of corporate communications and public affairs. Earlier in her career, Greene worked as an Edelman executive VP and a Burson-Marsteller corporate practice director.

“My next adventure, which is delightfully unscripted, will start with a brief sabbatical,” Greene wrote.

“What I know for sure as I hit my 51st year around the sun.

1. Lead your team with love, yes, love.
2. Bloom where you are planted and pay it forward for the next generation.
3. Leave things better than you found them.
4. Generate new possibilities by embracing the courage to shift.
5. Carpe diem.”
