BLOOMINGTON, IL — Insurance giant State Farm has awarded its PR business to Zeno Group, ending its roughly 10-year relationship with Weber Shandwick.

"Zeno Group is the new State Farm public relations agency of record," said Joe Strupek, State Farm's assistant VP of public affairs. "We thank our former PR partner, Weber Shandwick and their talented team of public relations professionals. In our nearly decade long relationship we accomplished many things, including the State Farm Newsroom, Neighborhood of Good and Education Assist.  We are looking forward to working with Zeno to connect with our communities."

The move comes a year after State Farm consolidated the majority of its marketing work with Omnicom, according to an AdWeek report, following the lead of another corporate giant — McDonald's. DDB and OMD reportedly retained their positions as lead creative and media agencies. The PR agency review that led to Zeno's hiring followed.

As the US's largest property and auto insurer, State Farm has a hefty marketing spend; In 2016, the company reportedly spent $726m.
