SAN FRANCISCO — Fintech company Affirm has launched a US PR agency review, with a focus on consumer-focused firms, PRovoke Media has learned.

The company, which allows shoppers to pay over time, is seeking an agency to handle integrated campaigns across marketing channels including social media, influencer engagement and content creation, as well as media relations, sources said. There is no incumbent firm.

The pitch already is underway, with a small number of firms invited by Affirm participating. The company, which is led by CEO Max Levchin, a PayPal cofounder, plans to wrap up the process by the end of the first quarter of this year.

The firm that wins the business will work with Affirm’s internal communications, integrated marketing, events and social media teams, according to individuals familiar with the pitch.

Affirm had no comment.

The review is the first one under the watch of Erika White, who joined Affirm as communications head early this year. The company raised $300m in its latest round of fundraising; Its latest valuation was $2.9bn.
