STOCKHOLM — Prime Weber Shandwick executive Anders Hult has left the firm after 22 years to join Swedish creative agency Nord DDB as managing partner and head of client direction.
Hult first joined Prime and its management consultancy arm United Minds in 2000, before the companies were bought by Weber Shandwick in 2014. Since 2018, he had been EVP and head of EMEA communications strategy and coordination at Prime Weber Shandwick.
In his new role, Hult will be responsible for the 20-strong client and project management department at Nord DDB, which leads on strategic advice and creative development across the agency’s specialist offerings. He will also join the management team.
Hult told PRovoke Media: “I think Nord DDB, for an extended time, have managed to combine great creative work with impressive development of the operation in the Nordics. They have earned a position as an absolute powerhouse in the region. As head of client direction I and the team will support our clients in finding new strategies and direction in a world with multiple challenges and evolving target groups.
“I look forward to working with the management team to drive the agency and learn from their decades of building a solid agency and to bring my knowledge of growing PR business within EMEA. My goal is to find synergies between my previous world of knowledge in strategic communication and public relations and the great insight and creativity within Nord DDB to develop something new in the market.”
Nord DDB chief executive Andreas Dahlqvist said: “We have seen a clear shift where customers face different business and communication challenges than in previous years. This change puts greater demand on the people we need to partner with these customers to help guide and advise them on complex business critical issues.
“Therefore, I am delighted that Anders has chosen to join us. His background is an incredible asset, and few people in the Nordics have a similar level of experience. His merits range from having been involved in building one of Europe's leading PR agencies, winning numerous international awards, including work as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies with corporate communication and crisis management.”
