LONDON — Bladonmore, which provides communications consultancy, coaching and content services to FT500 and private capital companies, has appointed Richard Carpenter to the newly-created position of managing partner.

Carpenter was previously CEO and partner at MerchantCantos, the creative comms arm of the Brunswick Group, where he oversaw its growth from a small London agency to an international creative communications consultancy with five international offices and revenues of around £30m. Before joining MerchantCantos in 2008, Carpenter was development director at design consultancy Radley Yeldar.

He told the Holmes Report: “I’d been with Brunswick for nine and a half years and done a grand job but felt I’d run my course. I loved my time there but I couldn’t see what the next challenge would be and I wanted to do something different.

“I’ve always liked Bladonmore’s mix of consulting and training for senior execs as well as content, and my brief is to define and lead strategy and look at growth in the UK and overseas. We already have offices in London and Abu Dhabi but we do a lot of work in the US and Canada and continental Europe, so I’ll have an international remit.”

Founded in 2002, Bladonmore’s clients include HSBC, Diageo and Marks & Spencer. Chairman Richard Rivlin said: “After a year of strong growth we are investing in our senior team and laying the groundwork for the next phase of our development. We are delighted to have attracted someone of Richard Carpenter’s calibre.”
