SINGAPORE--Cohn & Wolfe has inked its second Asian acquisition in a fortnight, buying highly-rated Singapore independent XPR.

The deal comes after Cohn & Wolfe last week acquired the Greater China operations of Impact Asia, and gives the WPP firm a 28-person presence in Singapore and Malaysia.

XPR was founded in 2008 by former Fleishman-Hillard executives Karen Ho, Gavin Foo and Adrian Lee, who will all remain group MDs, reporting to Cohn & Wolfe global CEO Donna Imperato. The tech-focused firm has grown rapidly since it launched, adding strong social media capabilities and a solid sports and lifestyle practice.

Key XPR clients include Groupon, SingTel, BMW Asia, Salesforce.com and Motorola Mobility. The firm was recently named 2011 Agency of the Year by Singapore’s Marketing Magazine.

“Since our very first meeting, XPR has impressed me with their strong leadership and quality of work. It’s clear they are driven to capitalize on the vast opportunities in Asia and our clients will benefit from this infusion of talent and digital expertise,” said Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe.
