LONDON — Digital agency Coolr has been selected to handle social media for one of the year’s biggest events — Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

Coolr, which won the business in a competitive review, is tasked with promoting and amplifying the June 5 event across digital and social channels.

The firm’s overarching goal is making the event — a key component of the queen’s 70th anniversary celebrations — accessible to the public. The pageant will feature roughly 5,000 people performing street arts, theatre, music, circus arts and more near Buckingham Palace.

“Our online channels will play a key part in inspiring, engaging and connecting people across the UK and around the world and we’re looking forward to creating a special digital experience for our followers,” said Rosanna Machado,The Platinum Jubilee Pageant's CEO. “We are delighted to be partnering with Coolr to help us deliver this important work.”

The assignment marks Coolr’s first foray into royal family work. Earlier this year, the agency launched Coolr Studios, a creative production studio, to offer in-house social media content production to its clients.
