LONDON —  Current Global has strengthened its senior healthcare team in London with the appointment of Andrea Hynes-Iatrou as senior vice president, alongside other hires, after a year of growth.

Hynes-Iatrou (pictured) joins in the newly-created role after more than two years at Real Chemistry, where she was managing director in London. She brings nearly 20 years’ experience in pharmaceutical and consumer health communications, having also worked in senior roles at Ketchum and Weber Shandwick, and has led disease awareness campaigns for pharma companies including AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb and AbbVie.

Over the past 12 months, the IPG agency’s healthcare team has added global product and corporate communications briefs as well as disease awareness and media relations campaigns for new clients in various therapy areas, as well as picking up new assignments with existing clients.

Current Global has also hired four other members of the team: senior associates Laura Bello-Rodriguez and Getrude Kayeyia, and associates Giada Portaluppi and Connor Buerk.

Alongside the new joiners, the agency has promoted Jessica Hinton to vice president, client experience within the health team. Since joining the agency in 2022, Hinton has led the agency’s corporate communications and disease awareness work for global health and oncology clients. Siobhan Dooley has also been promoted to account director.

Current Global head of UK health Nivey Nocher said: “The healthcare industry remains an exciting and evolving environment, with our clients approaching us with increasingly complex challenges that often span different specialisms. We’re excited to strengthen our leadership, welcome new talent and invest in our team’s career paths here so that we can continue to expand our offering and deliver true partnership for our clients.”
