HONG KONG — Dudley White has stepped down from his role as Manulife's Asia communications head to restart his consulting business.

Former Bloomberg journalist White joined Manulife in late 2021, after a stint as AIA's director of external communications. Before moving to Hong Kong, White spent three years in a senior communications role at Commonwealth Bank in Sydney.

He told PRovoke Media that he has relaunched his Clarion Advisory consulting business, to provide "senior independent counsel on external communications". White will remain in Hong Kong, and remains focused on the financial and professional services sectors.

Earlier in his career, White spent almost nine years covering energy and natural resources for Bloomberg across Australia and Asia.

A Manulife spokesperson confirmed that the search for White's successor remains underway. The company's communications are currently led by external head Carl Wong and internal lead Alice Li.
