LONDON — Europe’s largest home appliance manufacturer BSH, whose brands include Bosch, NEFF, Siemens and Gaggenau, has reappointed Smarts as its consumer communications agency, with an expanded brief to create an influencer ambassador programme for Bosch consumer products (pictured). The expanded role follows a competitive multi-agency pitch for the home appliance firm’s six-figure media relations and influencer management work, held by Smarts since 2019. Led by managing partner Helen Rainford, the Smarts team will continue to handle campaigns for BSH’s consumer-facing brands, managing media relations, product launches, brand partnerships and influencer programmes for Bosch, NEFF, Siemens and Gaggenau, including a new purpose workstream for Bosch.

BRISTOL, UK — B2B marketing agency Proctor + Stevenson has undergone a management buyout. The 60-strong agency was set up in 1979 by Roger Proctor, who is retiring after 44 years. The company will now be owned and managed by a leadership team of longstanding directors: MD Ailsa Billington, director of digital design Dan Hardaker, director of technology Steve King, creative director Phil Robinson and finance director Nikki Hunt. The agency, whose clients include Panasonic, Rathbones, Daikin, Pure Cremation and the UK Hydrographic Office, has grown by 22% in the past year, and has also expanded its footprint across North America, Asia and the Middle East.

LONDON — The PHA Group has been retained for a second year by carbon management platform Emitwise to deliver external corporate communications. The partnership supports the London-based climate tech startup’s mission to help businesses understand, report and reduce their carbon footprint. The agency’s remit covers corporate messaging, corporate press office and corporate communications strategy, as well as raising the profile of senior leaders and highlighting key issues  such as carbon emissions reduction targets, decarbonisation, renewable energy integration, carbon pricing and technological innovation.

LONDON — Sustainable consumer electronics company Fairphone has selected consumer PR agency Fanclub for the UK launch of the Fairphone 5 smartphone, which has an extended software lifecycle and can be fixed by its owners. Fairphone joins Fanclub’s roster of environmental and social impact clients including household cleaning company Smol, fashion company Lucy & Yak, and MusicMagpie. The agency’s corporate and B2Bpractice, Humankind, also works with electric car racing series Formula E and climate tech company Permutable AI.

LONDON — Travel deals platform HolidayPirates has appointed Diffusion to build brand awareness in the UK and communicate its mission of making travel accessible and affordable for everyone. HolidayPirates is the UK arm of The HolidayPirates Group, which is headquartered in Berlin and operates in 10 countries. Diffusion’s programme aims to generate mainstream consumer awareness and drive bookings, supported by press office and a corporate profiling campaign.

LONDON — Raptor PR, the B2B tech PR agency for the global video games industry, has been appointed as global PR agency of record by Midjiwan, the independent developer behind mobile game The Battle of Polytopia, which has been downloaded more than 20 million times. The agency will be responsible for communications strategy and raising the Stockholm-based studio’s profile.
