LONDON — Marketing group Engine has appointed Jim Moffatt as CEO of its Europe and Asia Pacific operations to drive expansion in the two regions.

Moffatt joins Engine, which owns agencies including MHP Communications, WCRS and Mischief, on October 15 after 10 years at digital creative agency R/GA, where he was latterly Asia Pacific managing director and had also been London MD.

Prior to R/GA, he worked for Nike as head of brand communication, where he led campaigns around the World Cup and the Olympics.

In his new role, Moffatt will oversee Engine’s eight offices in London, Manchester, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney and Melbourne from a London base.

Moffat said: “As an independent company built specifically to be nimble and fast-moving, we are well-positioned to deliver growth for clients in a fast, changing marketplace. There is a lot of opportunity to deliver large, transformative ideas for our clients’ brands and businesses.”

He will report to Engine’s recently appointed Global CEO, Kasha Cacy, formerly US CEO of IPG media agency UM. She said: “We are thrilled to welcome Jim to the Engine family. His entrepreneurial mindset, enthusiasm, strategic focus and expertise in growing businesses aligns perfectly with Engine’s vision.”
