LONDON — Global IT company Dimension Data has named Golin as its lead PR agency after a competitive pitch. Golin will lead the global account from London, as well as providing UK and Ireland press office and campaign support for the $8bn systems integrator and managed services provider.

The agency has been working with Dimension Data – which employs 28,000 people across 46 countries – since last year, when it won the social media work.

Since 2015, Dimension Data has been the official technology partner to Amaury Sport Organisation, the organiser of the Tour de France, as well as having its own Dimension Data pro cycling team with riders including Mark Cavendish (pictured). An immediate priority for Golin will be to help Dimension Date communicate how technology is revolutionising the viewing experience of the Tour de France.

Dimension Data’s senior director of corporate communications Julie Moon said: “Golin’s impressive technology experience will be vital in helping us reach our core business audiences but we also saw the passion and creative flair we were looking for to help take our storytelling to the next level around key projects, such as our technology partnership with the Tour de France and our Connected Conservation work in Africa.”

Golin executive director Will Sturgeon, who will head up the account team, said: “Dimension Data has great stories to tell. From helping organisations plot their way through digital transformation, to digitising the fan experience of the Tour de France and the incredible ways it is using technology to combat poaching in Africa. We are excited to have the opportunity to help Dimension Data tell these stories in a more integrated way, building upon the social media work we have been doing over the past 12 months.”
