LONDON: Guinness has selected Ogilvy PR to handle global brand PR duties, as the beer brand aims to better integrate its marketing and communications.

Ogilvy clinches the six-figure brief following a final round of pitching against Edelman. “This is part of Diageo’s ‘transforming marketing’ agenda where marketing and communications is taking a much more integrated approach,” Diageo PR manager Rachael Newton told the Holmes Report.

The account was previously handled by four-year incumbent Taylor PR in New York, which did not repitch the business. Taylor continues to work for a number of Diageo brands.

“Ogilvy’s pitch demonstrated excellent strategic insight, a huge range of tactical ideas based around a bold creative for a global PR programme for next year,” added Newton.
