LONDON — Re-commerce platform Gumtree has appointed Tin Man as its retained UK agency, with a brief to handle creative campaigns and strategic communications.

The agency will amplify Gumtree’s 'Good Finds’ proposition as well as supporting its ESG efforts with a programme of insight-led creative campaigns beginning this spring, as well as press office activity.

Gumtree has been a platform for the sale and purchase of second-hand goods and motors for 20 years and was recently acquired by O3 industries and Novum Capital. Its previous retained UK PR agency was The Romans, which won the account last February.

UK chief marketing officer Hannah Rouch said: “Tin Man really understood our vision to harness the power of reuse to put an end to damaging consumption habits. Their blend of purpose driven, strategic and creative consumer comms made them the perfect partner to help us drive our vision forward.”

Tin Man founder Mandy Sharp added: “Sustainability has been pushed into the spotlight in recent years – and rightly so – but with the cost of living continually rising, offering consumers an alternative, cost-effective and more sustainable way to shop has never been more important. We’re excited to join Gumtree on its mission to change consumption habits and put the circular economy high on the agenda through a series of emotionally engaging campaigns.”
