SOUTHLAKE, TX — Heather Wilson has left her role as a Big Valley Marketing senior leader to join TrailRunner International as a Dallas-Fort Worth-based managing director.

In announcing her hire, TrailRunner said that Wilson was brought onboard for the array of expertise she has gleaned during her two-decade career.

During her year at Big Valley, Wilson led strategic, financial, and crisis communications for the firm’s cybersecurity and tech clients. Previously, she was managing director and head of California for SKDK and managing director and head of the San Francisco office of Abernathy MacGregor.

Earlier in her career, Wilson led Weber Shandwick’s corporate and crisis communications on the West Coast.

“We are excited to welcome Heather to TrailRunner International,” said CEO Jim Hughes. “Heather’s wealth of experience as a senior advisor to companies involved in major litigation, transactions, operational crises, and other special situations deepens our strength in these areas as we continue to grow as a firm.”

Wilson’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior-level moves at TrailRunner. In February, the firm named Hughes CEO as founder Jim Wilkinson took on the role of executive chairman. Also in February, Jennifer Kuperman and Jen Crichton, both veteran in-house communicators, signed on as managing directors. New York office head Kelly Wallace this month was named to the global role of COO.
