BENGALURU — Indian IT giant Infosys is reviewing its global PR support, after domestic incumbent Adfactors was hired to oversee Tata's mammoth communications remit, which includes rival company Tata Consultancy Services.

Adfactors took on the Infosys assignment in 2014, after the Bengaluru-based company spent one year with Perfect Relations following a 12-year run with The PRactice. India's largest PR firm was hired by Tata earlier this year, displacing incumbent Edelman.

It is understood that at least four firms pitched for the Infosys business last week. Global markets are also believed to be included in the review. Infosys consolidated its US and Europe PR assignments with Lewis in 2015

The US accounts for around two-thirds of of Infosys' $10bn revenue, with Europe bringing in about a quarter.

Recent years have seen considerable change at Infosys, particularly in terms of senior leadership. CEO Vishal Sikka abruptly left last year, after a public spat with co-founder Naryana Murthy, who raised questions about corporate governance.

Since then, co-founder Nandan Nilekani was named non-executive chairman at Infosys to help steady the ship. Earlier this year, meanwhile, the company hired Capgemini exec Salil Parekh as its new CEO and MD.

Infosys communications manager Sarah Gideon confirmed the review and noted that the "selection process is underway."
