PARIS — Jin has been named as the global agency of record for Technicolor, which provides the media and entertainment industries with digital products and services, after a competitive pitch.

The company has not had a global AOR since 2018, after four years of working with Weber Shandwick. The appointment comes after new CEO Richard Moat joined Technicolor in 2019 with a brief to re-engineer its operations, finances and global footprint, and to refresh innovation at the firm.

Jin will lead on global corporate messaging, reputation management and public relations strategy, with a focus on the US, the UK and France.

The Paris-based agency has also picked up a number of other new clients, internationally and in the UK, where it appointed its first UK managing director, former Dentsu exec Simon John, in September.

These include Jollibee, the Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants, for which Jin will run media relations and PR to support the launch of new outlets in the UK, and Mizkan, a Japanese sauce and dressing company, where the agency will create a European influencer campaign in the UK, Germany, France and Italy, using chefs on Instagram to show the versatility of Mizkan’s products.

In addition, the agency will be leading media relations strategy across the UK, France, Germany, Benelux and Norway for Ionity, a European high-power electric vehicle charging station network from BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Hyundai and Volkswagen.

Jin now has a team of 80 across its three offices in Paris, Berlin and London. The agency raised €3 million in funding last summer and while it still plans to expand further geographically, these funds will be used to strengthen its position in existing markets, especially the UK, via talent and technology innovation.

Jin’s current client portfolio also includes Google, Halo Top, Chipotle, Pfizer, Michelin, Coca Cola and Tinder.
