LONDON--Pfizer brand Imedeen has handed its PR accounts in the UK and Brazil to Ketchum Pleon.

The UK win follows a competitive review that initially featured seven firms, whittled down to a trio of pitching contenders. Separately, Ketchum has secured Imedeen’s PR business in Brazil.

Oral skin care brand Imedeen was acquired last year by Pfizer Consumer Health, as part of the pharma giant’s purchase of Ferrosan’s retail health business.

“With strong growth plans in place, there is a need for an agency partner with proven brand building and influencer management skills,” said Anne Toker, Imedeen marketing manager. “The passion and creativity the Ketchum team brings to Imedeen is underpinned by their connectivity to the world of beauty and sound strategic insight.”

The wins come as Ketchum Pleon promotes Deirdre Murphy to senior MD, overseeing the firm’s creativity and innovation areas. Murphy’s team will lead the Imedeen business.

“We will be harnessing our marketing to women know-how, plus our award-winning expertise in global and UK beauty and specialist knowledge in consumer health and science to help Imedeen realise its maximum potential,” said Murphy.
