NEW DELHI—Lufthansa has awarded its Indian PR mandate to Cohn & Wolfe, marking one of the agency's first major wins in the country.

Cohn & Wolfe secured the mandate following a lengthy competitive review, that spanned three rounds over five months. It is understood that the business was previously held by CNC.

"It was a tough decision as many agencies had made nice proposals but Cohn & Wolfe brought with them unique insights based on deep research which mapped onto how we had been communicating in India," said Lufthansa South Asia director Wolfgang Will.

"They offered unique and creative brand communication ideas which made us choose them as our communication partners in India.”

Cohn & Wolfe launched in India in 2012, and is led by CEO Rafi Khan.
