LONDON — M&C Saatchi PR has appointed Julian Cirrone to the newly-created role of creative director, in an expansion of its strategic and creative department, Create.

Cirrone joins from Lexis, where he was creative director, working on brands including Harley Davidson, Pizza Hut and Coca-Cola. His previous experience at Freud Communications and Frank PR includes international brands across the FMCG, lifestyle, entertainment and fashion sectors.

The role has been introduced after a number of new business wins, which the agency is yet to announce. Cirrone’s appointment follows Davnet Doran joining M&C Saatchi PR last month from Unity as UK managing director, as former incumbent Chris Hides was promoted to global MD.

Reporting to head of Create Nathan Kemp, Cirrone will build out the unit’s offering, with a focus on “great ideas, creative storytelling and an integrated, channel-neutral approach”. He will also be responsible for driving a culture of creativity across M&C Saatchi PR’s international business.

M&C Saatchi PR co-founder and global CEO Molly Aldridge said: “The new role has been carved out as we continue to expand globally along with our strategic and creative capabilities. As a key new member of Create, we have no doubt that Julian’s fantastic track record will bring an energetic and fresh approach that will deliver impact for our clients and prospects.”

Cirrone commented: “M&C Saatchi PR is a fantastic, award-winning agency with an incredible set of thinkers. 2017 was a great year for the agency and I’m looking forward to contributing to more industry success, not to mention the opportunity to work with some of the biggest and most dynamic clients in the market.”
