SINGAPORE — Microsoft has hired former Twitter Asia Pacific comms leader Lauren Myers-Cavanagh to lead communications in Asia.

“I've made the leap to Microsoft to lead communications in Asia where I'll be focused on positioning it as the most innovative and trusted company in the world,” Myers-Cavanagh said in a LinkedIn post. “AI will be at the core of our storytelling, and also redefining the way we tell our stories. This team will be experimenting, taking a few risks and doing things differently.”

“I'm grateful to Douglas Dawson for the partnership and trust. The opportunity to be part of Microsoft's global communications leadership team is a privilege, as is shaping the next chapter of the Microsoft story in Asia with leaders like Ahmed Mazhari,” she wrote.

Myers-Cavanagh joined Microsoft roughly six months after losing her role at Twitter to Elon Musk’s decimation of of the social media platform’s comms function last fall.

Myers-Cavanagh had served as Twitter’s Asia-Pacific director of communications since October 2021.

Myers-Cavanagh arrived at Twitter in October 2020 as head of policy communications after more than six years with Edelman, culminating in a Singapore-based position as director of communications and special projects.
