LONDON — Rooster has been selected as the UK agency for the launch for one of the biggest luxury resort openings in the Caribbean this year, after a competitive pitch.

The Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa is the first Wyndham Grand property in Barbados, and the largest all-inclusive resort on the island.

Rooster will work as an extension of the Wyndham Grand Barbados marketing team to launch the resort to media and generate visibility across the UK. The agency will manage the resort’s ongoing press office, brand partnerships, events, and media stays for the soft opening from 30 September, followed by the formal opening in early 2024.

The resort, which will offer 419 guest rooms including 34 suites, along with ocean views and a spa, has put in place sustainability programmes to improve the environment and support the local community.

Wyndham Grand Barbados director of sales and marketing Rob Ferguson said: “Rooster’s extensive expertise and innovative approach align perfectly with our vision, meaning they were the clear choice for us when looking for our UK agency partner. We believe their involvement will be instrumental in conveying the essence of our distinctive resort to British travellers.”

Rooster MD James Brooke added: “One of the most highly-anticipated resort openings in the Caribbean this year, Rooster fought off stiff competition to win the Wyndham Grand Barbados launch and ongoing comms brief. Highlighting all that this vibrant property has to offer British travellers, we will deliver a dynamic PR programme that tells the resort’s compelling story and drives visitation.”

The resort joins other travel and tourism clients on Rooster’s roster including Ambassador Cruise Line, Maldives travel company Atmosphere Core, Flight Centre Travel Group, Irish Ferries, small group tours specialist Jules Verne and Nevis Tourism Authority.
