NASHVILLE — Nissan has upped two US comms vets — Ashli Bobo and Dan Passe — to new senior leadership roles, the latest in a spate of moves within the function as the troubled automaker tries to revive regional sales.

Bobo, who had been leading US employee communications, has been named director of corporate communications. She will oversee the full range of corporate communications, which includes focuses on future advanced technology, multicultural communications, manufacturing, labor and policy communications and financial services.

She replaces Dan Passe, who, after just five months as corporate comms head, has been named US director of product communications. In his new role, Passe will be responsible for communications efforts around new vehicle launches, product lifecycle, safety, dealers, divisional marketing and regional operations, as well as oversight of Nissan's activations at US auto shows.

Bobo and Passe’s promotions come less than a month after North America comms head Travis Parman, who was tapped last year to help pull Nissan out of its sales slump, left the company to join agtech company AppHarvest as its chief communications officer. Brian Brockman, who was promoted to VP of US and Canada communications, now oversees comms in those markets.
