MIAMI—John Seifert, worldwide chairman and CEO of Ogilvy, and David Roman (pictured), chief marketing officer at Lenovo, have joined the lineup of speakers at PRovoke17, the Global Public Relations Summit, to discuss “Making Brands Matter In Today's Modern Marketing Era.”

At a time when the consumer world is in a state of constant change, driven by globalization and digital transformation, brands must be nimble, agile and able to identify solutions quickly to compete. The discussion between veteran ad industry executive Seifert and tech industry CMO Roman will explore current dynamics in marketing and communications, sharing lessons learned and best practices and exploring the changing agency/client relationship.

Roman is senior vice president at Lenovo, responsible for driving all marketing activities for the global personal computer maker. Prior to joining Lenovo, he was vice president of worldwide marketing communications for Hewlett-Packard's Personal Systems Group and vice president of corporate and international marketing at NVIDIA. He also held a number of different marketing leadership roles at Apple Computer in Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA.

Seifert is a 38-year veteran of Ogilvy, starting as a summer intern nearly four decades ago. He was appointed Worldwide chief executive officer in January 2016 after leading the revitalization of Ogilvy’s North American operations since 2009. He is currently leading Ogilvy through its “Next Chapter,” a worldwide transformation initiative geared towards re-founding the agency to serve the needs of the modern buyer of marketing services.

Seifert and Roman join a lineup of speakers that includes noted documentarian Lynn Novick exploring storytelling lessons learned from her long-running collaboration with Ken Burnsl; neuroscientist Tali Sharot on why facts don’t unite us, at a time when fake news is apparently endemic; and Harris Poll CEO John Gerzema discussing how companies with good products can take greater stands in society.
