NEW YORK — Jackson Jeyanayagam, VP and GM of direct-to-consumer at the Clorox Company, will appear at PRovokeGlobal 2021 in a keynote session that examines how senior communications professionals can make the leap to business leadership roles.

That kind of transition remains a rare one within major multinational corporations, but it is one that Jeyanayagam undertook when he took on P&L leadership of Clorox's DTC business in 2019, for retail brands including Burt's Bees and Brita, and divisions including petcare and cleaning.

In conversation with PRovoke Media editor-in-chief Arun Sudhaman, Jeyanayagam will break down the lessons he has learned along the way, including the qualities that communicators can bring to these roles, and the challenges they need to overcome if they are to make a similar shift.

Jeyanayagam joins a speaker lineup that also includes Walgreen Boots Alliance chief communications officer Aaron Radelet and Dana J. Bolden, global SVP of communications and government relations at GSK consumer healthcare. Also confirmed are Lenovo HR executive director Subhankar Roy Chowdhury and Dr Yele Aluko, Ernst & Young's chief medical officer, with many more set to be confirmed in the coming days.

PRovokeGlobal 2021, our 10th annual Global Public Relations Summit including the Entrepreneurs’ Forum and the Global SABRE Awards ceremony, will take place virtually this year, from October 25-27.

This will be the second all-digital version of the event Hanover chief executive Charles Lewington called “a stimulating mix of industry mega-stars, best practice learnings from around the globe” and of which Laura Tomasetti, CEO of 360 Public Relations said: “The speakers and content were the best I’ve experienced — at any industry event.”

This year’s confirmed partners include four of the world’s five largest PR firms as well as a number of leading independent firms from around the world. The complete list includes BCW, Edelman, Finn Partners, FleishmanHillard, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Real Chemistry, Weber Shandwick, GCI Health, Ketchum, Omnicom PR Group, Zeno Group, 360PR+, APCO Worldwide, Axicom, Bully Pulpit Interactive, Davis & Gilbert, Golin, TheNetworkOne, Method Communications, MSL, and SPRG.

The event will include the Entrepreneurs’ Forum on Monday October 25, focusing on agency management topics; two days of PRovokeGlobal on October 26 and 27, providing insight into the major issues impacting the practice of public relations in this challenging era; and the Global SABRE Awards, counting down the 40 best campaigns from our regional SABRE Awards competitions, and honouring our Global Agencies of the Year on the afternoon of October 27.
