NEW YORK — Ruder Finn has acquired the PR firm Jacobstahl as part of its larger plan to bolster incubator agency Bloom.

Launched by Ruder Finn alumni Sandra Stahl and Jeremy Jacob, Jacobstahl will operate as the core of both Bloom, a longstanding Ruder Finn subsidiary, and Bloom Health, which is dedicated exclusively to the healthtech sector.

Jacobstahl will retain its name and Stahl and Jacob, who started the full-service agency in 2003, will lead the operation. Jacobstahl brings clients including healthcare multinationals and startups, and a practice dedicated to working on corporate reputation, internal culture and sales organization. The firm works with a network of freelancers.

“The Bloom arm of Ruder Finn has always been an exciting and important opportunity for us,” said CEO Kathy Bloomgarden, CEO, Ruder Finn. “With Jacobstahl at the helm, Bloom has the leadership and vision to develop and deliver what’s next in healthcare and corporate communications. On a personal note, I am thrilled to welcome Sandra and Jeremy back to Ruder Finn, where they both started their careers.”

The acquisition is the latest expansion move by Ruder Finn, which, with double-digit growth, grew into a roughly $80m firm last year. The firm purchased video production house Osmosis Films in July. Last September, the agency acquired New Jersey-based SPI Group, bolstering the agency's offerings in areas including employee experience, corporate branding and corporate reputation. In July 2018, it bought health and wellness marketing firm RLA Collective.
