ZURICH--Zurich Financial Services has named Angel Serna to head global corporate communications, filling the vacancy left by the departure of Pierre Goad to HSBC.

Serna is promoted from a previous position as head of media relations, which he has held since joining Zurich in 2006.

HSBC recently appointed Goad to head global communications in conjunction with former Credit Suisse CCO Charles Naylor. The duo replace Richard Beck, who leaves the bank at the end of this week.

Credit Suisse has moved to fill Naylor’s role by putting head of group comms Andres Luther and EMEA comms chief Gavin Sullivan in charge on an interim basis.

Serna will report to Zurich CEO Martin Senn. Prior to joining Zurich, Serna worked for over 12 years as correspondent and business editor at the Swiss daily newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
