BERLIN—Andreas Winiarski is joining German PR giant Hering Schuppener, less than a year after he led the spin-off of boutique consultancy RCKT from Rocket Internet.

Winiarski told the Holmes Report that he joins Hering Schuppener as managing partner, charged with building "a new digital corporate comms and digital change business." His move was first reported earlier today by PRReport, which also noted that Winiarski will have equity in the new venture.

Winiarski becomes the youngest executive on Hering Schuppener's board of partners, reflecting the firm's desire to build a credible digital offering. Winiarski led global PR for German startup giant Rocket Internet for several years before launching RCKT earlier this year, after earlier working at Axel Springer.

Winiarski was also named to the Holmes Report's Innovator 25 this year, in which he noted that PR industry innovation is "lagging other industries".

It is understood that RCKT, which employs around 40 people, will remain led by founding partners Nils Seger, Karolin Hewelt and Lisa Teicher.
