NEW YORK — Ed Dixon has ended his 16-year relationship with Omnicom to join consulting giant Mercer as partner and integrated communications leader for its emerging markets.

Dixon, who was most recently FleishmanHillard GM in the Middle East, has relocated to New York for the position. At Mercer he will report Julie Winskie, his former Porter Novelli colleague who joined the company to lead global communications and branding one year ago.

Dixon spent 13 years with Porter Novelli in various roles around the world, including a lengthy stint leading its Asian business from Singapore. His emerging markets experience also includes three years in the Middle East.

At Mercer, Dixon's responsibilities include internal and external communications for Mercer’s 'growth markets region — Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Asia. "It should put my decade working and living in Asia and Middle East to work," he told the Holmes Report.

Prior to joining Porter Novelli in 1999, Dixon spent 14 years on the client side, including more than a decade with Citibank.
