SINGAPORE — Iain Twine has resurfaced as a partner at FGS Global, after a short-lived stint as chief communications officer at UAE oil giant ADNOC.

The former Edelman vice chair will lead FGS Global's Singapore office, reporting to Asia head Ben Richardson. Twine will focus on accelerating the firm's growth in Southeast Asia, meeting increasing demand from clients for cross-border capabilities, and capitalising on inward investment into the region from the Middle East, China and Europe.

"Strategic communications advice is a must have in today’s volatile environment," said Twine. "I have been hugely impressed by the depth and breadth of strategic advisors operating within FGS and I am pleased to join them to deliver the next phase of development for the business."

After spending 14 years with Edelman in various countries, Twine left the firm in 2019 and launched his own consultancy. He joined ADNOC in October 2021, before exiting the company by the end of the year.

"We are delighted to have Iain join the FGS team as we continue to grow and expand our offering in Southeast Asia," said Faeth Birch, CEO of UK, Middle East and Asia at FGS Global. "Iain brings extensive expertise advising companies, governments, individuals on cross-border issues, and he is a great addition to the team."
