LONDON — European public affairs and strategic communications group, Rud Pedersen, has added to its fast-growing London office with the appointment of Celia Stewart as a senior consultant.

After starting her career as a journalist and working for publications including the Times, the Telegraph and the Guardian, Stewart most recently worked in Whitehall as a senior policy advisor across departments including the Ministry of Justice and the Cabinet Office, including responsibility for communications, social and digital media.

At the Cabinet Office, Stewart also supported ministers and senior officials on Operation Yellowhammer, the UK Government’s contingency plan for the most severe disruption under a potential ‘no-deal’ Brexit.

Rud Pedersen’s UK managing partner, Jon Aarons – who joined the firm last year to open the London office and has since been joined by 13 senior team members including Liam Herbert – said: “It’s great to welcome another first-class addition to our London team. After a highly successful year one start-up, we have kicked off 2023 with strong momentum and fierce optimism for the opportunities in front of us.

"Brexit Britain remains a challenging and turbulent market for our clients, whether long-established in the UK and contending with political change, or new entrants bewildered by the regulatory minefield. Our mission is to guide them safely to the other side.”

Stewart added: “I am delighted to join the Rud Pedersen team at such an exciting and pivotal time. With an already established European network and global reach, the group has a fantastic reputation among clients and I am looking forward to helping develop client relations in the London market.”
