SINGAPORE — Retail commerce and e-commerce platform Shopify has selected Sling & Stone as its agency of record in Southeast Asia, following a competitive pitch.

The agency has been briefed to build awareness, drive adoption and build advocacy for Shopify in Southeast Asia, positioning it as a leader in commerce and the platform of choice for retail in the region.

Shopify has been operating in Southeast Asia for a decade, with product offerings tailored to the requirements of businesses the region, including retailers such as J&Co, Jovian, MS Read and Secretlab. The company has also built local and regional partnerships with ecommerce platforms such as aCommerce and JD.com and alliances with payment providers including eNets, GrabPay and iPay88.

Sling & Stone head of Singapore Rajiv Menon, who joined the agency when it opened the office in 2021, said: “We’ve admired Shopify’s platform for many years and it’s a proud moment to help them craft and share their story. Chances are if you shop with one of your favourite brands and peek beneath the hood, they’re powered by Shopify.

“Our agency exists to help tell the stories of brands shaping the future. The sheer scale of the impact Shopify already has on business small and large alike, and the shopping experience for millions around the world, is impossible to overstate. We’re just getting started, and so is Shopify.”

Sling & Stone and its sister technology agencies within the VCCP Business group, Harvard and Method, recently formed a collective called Outleap to handle global accounts.
