AMSTERDAM — UK-based agency The Romans has made its first senior hire in its new Amsterdam office – its fourth international outpost – which opened earlier this month.

Daisy Homoet-Mijnals (pictured, left) joins the agency as associate director of creative and strategy after two years at Benelux creative and communications agency BAAS. There, she was a senior creative strategist working with music, fashion, technology and travel brands, including Bacardi Group.

Homoet-Mijnals’ career has also included in-house communications roles at Huawei, Corendon Holiday Group and fashion group Bestseller.

In her new role, she will be responsible for leading client relationships and supporting The Romans partner and Amsterdam MD Sophie Nicholson (pictured, right) in growing the client portfolio and team.

Nicholson – who joined The Romans to lead Amsterdam from One Green Bean, where she was EMEA head of PR – said: “We couldn’t be happier to bring Daisy into The Romans fold. She is whip-smart, lives and breathes culture, is as creative as she is strategic, and she’s a good human through and through. We have huge ambition and Daisy is the perfect hire to help us reach it.”

Homoet-Mijnals added: “The opportunity to join The Romans is incredibly exciting as they are a true challenger brand and one of the progressive few that are leaning into the evolving creative and media landscape to meet the real needs of their clients. The dynamic and fast-paced nature of working in an agency appeals to me and I know that The Romans is the best next step for me. I can't wait to get started and give the empire a Dutch twist.”

As well as its new Amsterdam office and its London HQ, The Romans opened offices in Dubai and New York in 2022.
