HAMBURG — Weber Shandwick Germany has hired Britta Heer to the newly-created role of executive vice president of client experience.

Heer joins Weber Shandwick from Edelman, where she was responsible for the agency's growth in brand and product PR as managing director of brand marketing and led Edelman’s Hamburg office.

Before re-joining Edelman in 2018 – she was previously head of digital in Germany from 2011-2015 – Heer held a similar role as managing director at Lewis in Hamburg. She has also served as chief digital officer at Achtung!, where she developed digital programs and services, and as head of marketing at digital publisher Books on Demand.

Heer reports to Weber Shandwick Germany CEO Ilan Schäfer, who said: “Together with our strong Germany team, Britta will be responsible for the further development of the agency into a highly-integrated network of experts as well as for the entire operational business.

"In addition, Britta will bring her extensive digital expertise to further develop our digital services for our clients.”

Heer added: “I am impressed by the speed and consistency with which Weber Shandwick has transformed to continue to serve its clients in a highly competitive market. I am very pleased to become part of this exceptional team and will do my best to contribute to the ongoing development of the agency and the challenges our clients face on an everyday basis.”

At the start of the year, Edelman Germany also lost chief operating officer Andreas Kloevekorn, who moved to H+K Strategies to lead the technology team as MD in Germany.
