LONDON — British automotive brand Lotus Cars has appointed Ben Bailey to the newly-created role of global lifestyle PR director.

Bailey joins from Deliveroo, where he had been global consumer communications director since 2021. Before that he was creative director and creative lead in the PR and influence division at Ogilvy.

He has also held various creative roles in agencies including Wieden + Kennedy, Grey, Exposure and Three Sixty.

Bailey joins Lotus Cars as it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, with planned milestones including the first customer deliveries of the Eletre, the first all-electric Hyper SUV, a digital brand experience centre in London, and a potential stock market listing in New York.

“The combination of taking the DNA of an iconic British automotive brand, and a blank sheet of paper on which to craft a global luxury lifestyle PR strategy, was too good to ignore,” said Bailey.

Geely, owner of Volvo and Polestar, took a majority stake in Lotus Cars in 2017, and has been laying the groundwork for global expansion, including opening design, engineering and manufacturing hubs in the UK, Germany and China.
