Nigerian industrial conglomerate Dangote Group might not be a household name in Europe or the US, but it is not only familiar to citizens across Africa, it has been named the most admired indigenous brand on the continent for the last three years by Brand Africa. And with good reason, as it recorded a 24.2 per cent increase in its revenue and 18 per cent increase in profit after tax in the first quarter of 2022.
The individual most responsible for day-to-day management of the company’s reputation is group head of corporate communications Anthony Chiejina, who has been with the company as a senior communicator for 17 years—during which it has won numerous awards in Nigeria and across the entire African continent.
Chiejina’s previous experience includes serving as head of corporate communications for Zenith Bank; personnel manager and editorial advisor for the Seven Up Bottling Company; and deputy editor of the of African Economic Digest, based in the UK.
