Louise Evans

Director External Corporate Communications
Jaguar Land Rover
UK

After a career detour last year to study for a leadership coaching qualification, Louise Evans returned to the highest echelons of home-grown British brand comms this spring when she was appointed as Jaguar Land Rover’s first director of external corporate communications amid a function restructure at the car maker. Evans had previously been director of external communications and sustainability at British Airways for more than three years, and before that was director of corporate affairs for supermarket giant Sainsbury’s.

Evans will have an interesting job on her hands: Jaguar Land Rover, which is owned by Tata Motors, may be the UK’s biggest car maker but its legacy of luxury has been dented by long-standing issues around quality and reliability, plus more recent supply chain challenges. The firm’s reputation (not to mention its attractiveness as an employer brand) will also need shoring up against competition from auto manufacturers who have been quicker off the blocks with their electric mobility and sustainability strategies.

Before joining Sainsbury’s Evans led marketing and communications for creative group Dentsu Aegis, and was director of corporate communications for ITV. She also sits on the board of children’s charity Buttle.
