David Ginsberg

Global Head of Communications & Public Affairs

Nick Clegg—David Ginsberg’s predecessor in this role at Facebook before being elevated to president of global affairs—was a supremely well-connected political veteran (he had previously been the UK’s deputy prime minister) who spent the majority of his four-year tenure defending controversial Facebook policies that faciliatated disinformation, racism, and homophobia on the platform.

A six-year Facebook veteran, Ginsberg most recently served as VP of product, choice and competition. His appointment was viewed as part of Meta’s larger effort to revamp its communications team so that it has more power to fight the company’s ongoing reputational challenges and to emphasize the company’s product and innovation stories.

Before joining Facebook, Ginsberg held roles including chief strategy officer and acting chief marketing officer at Intel, worked on the presidential campaigns of both Barack Obama and John Kerry and was a VP at research and polling company Penn Schoen Berland.
