American pharma giant Gilead developed the first antiviral drug approved to treat Covid, and its director of marketing operations Erika Song handled marketing for the company as new challenges emerged, including the uneven distribution of vaccines and drugs around the world, plus maintaining traction for other drugs in the company’s portfolio.
Song has more than two decades of experience in marketing and marketing operations, strategic sourcing, client relationship management, business development and change management. She spent a decade at US biotech corp Genentech, part of Roche, in various marketing roles. She says she has a ‘proven ability to drive and influence change’ and her impressive CV and the challenges she’s faced at Gilead would back this claim up quite comprehensively.
