In December 2019, Unilever announced long-serving executive Conny Braams would be its new chief digital and marketing officer, filling the gap left by the departure of Keith Weed a year earlier. Braams joined Unilever in 1990 as a marketing trainee and has held a variety of marketing leadership and general management roles across European and Asian markets. Before her promotion, she was EVP, Unilever Middle Europe, responsible for Unilever’s business in DACH, Nordics, Italy and the Benelux region.

Braams was previously EVP Benelux and Home Care Europe, where she led the digital and marketing transformation of Unilever’s business, and before that, grew the Unilever Food Solutions business as EVP for Asia, Africa and Middle East between 2010 and 2016.

At the time of her appointment to the new role, Unilever CEO Alan Jope said: “Conny Braams is one of our most successful and talented leaders, as well as a highly effective driver of change. Her experience will be critical to the transformation of Unilever into a future-fit, fully digitised organisation at the leading edge of consumer marketing.”
